Taruo walked down the busy streets of Konoha. No one except his mother seemed to pay attention to him. It didn’t matter weither he was wearing a hood or not, no one carred about the twelve year old Uzumaki. Sakura pedals flew from their trees and danced in the soft wind, it was like his mother was trying to cheer him up from afar. He turned around and looked at the Hokage monument. He looked at the faces of all the leaders of the village. He raised a hand to the face that looked a lot like his mother and himself. “I shall not disappoint, I will surpass you all.”

Ikuna Arakaki rounded a corner, and found herself in front of Ichiraku Ramen. Her stomach growled, and she was about to step inside, she noticed Taruo with his hand up facing the Monument. She walked over to him, "Hey kid! What are you doing," she said with a smile on her face. She was happy to meet someone new, even if that person is only a kid.

Taruo turned around and saw Ikuna. He didn’t think that someone would notice him even though he had blond hair. He dropped his hand. He had never seen her before. “I was looking at the Hokage monument. My name’s Taruo Uzumaki, what’s yours?”

"Me? I'm Ikuna Arakaki. That's a lot of faces," she said as she looked up at the mountain. "I'm guessing that they were all once the Hokage of this village? I am also guessing that you want to become the Hokage by what you were doing," she smiled as she spoke. She couldn't help but be friendly, even if Taruo is young, other people are interesting to her.

He smiled. “Nice to meet you Ikuna.” His hand darted to the necklace around his neck. “Yeah, all the faces up there were once a Hokage of this village. My idol is among them, its that one there.” He then pointed to the face of a man who had whiskers on his face and looked like the fourth. “His name is Naruto Uzumaki, and I’ll surpass him someday.”

Ikuna looks up at the face he was pointing at, and was amazed that the face looked like it had whiskers, Wow. He looks like he has whiskers. That's cool, she said with a smile. The smell of ramen was starting to make her hungry, and her stomach growled. "I'm starting to get hungry, how about you? I don't like eating alone, would you like some lunch Taruo, my treat," she said pointing at the ramen shop.

“Nah, I’m fine. I’m not hungry at all actually....” Just then his stomach gave a huge growl betraying the blond haired twelve year old boy. For the briefest of moments he had a craving for raw meat but it passed just as quickly as it had come on. He looked down at his stomach. When did I say that you could betray me like that?

Ikuna stood there laughing slightly, "You say no, but obviously your stomach says yes," she said with a smile. "It's probably eating with someone you just met that is turning you away. So I won't force you. If you change your mind, you know where I'll be," Turning around and walking into Ickirachu, and sitting down on one of the stools.

Taruo looked up smiling and watched as she walked into Ichiraku’s. The whole reason why he didn’t want to join Ikuna in lunch was because most of the food vendors were owned and operated by civilians and would not serve him. He walked into the little stall and ordered a bowl.
“Sorry for refusing your offer before, Ikuna. You see the civilians hate me for some reason and this is the only civilian run shop that will serve me.”

"Oh my. At least one place will serve you, that's better then none, dont you think?" She said smiling, and ordered herself a bowl. "So what rank are you? BY the looks of you, I would say Genin, but I have been fooled before," Ikuna said laughing a little.

“Yeah it is better than none.” He adjusted his headband and laughed a bit. “Yeah. I’m a genin, I basicly just graduated from the academy. They haven’t put us in squads yet.” He grabed a pair of hashi and pulled them apart as his ramen was placed in front of him.
“What brings you to Konoha anyways?”

"I've been sent here by the Kazekage, to see if Konha needs any help with anything," Ikuna said making up a lie right on the spot. She didn't want to worry anyone that she is from Taki. She to grabed a pair of hashi as her bowl of ramen was placed in front of her. She took a bite and her face lit up, "I heard Konoha had the best, but I wasn't expecting it to be this good." When she finished her bowl, she ordered another one. She turned back to Taruo, "So what do you think of the war that's going on right now? I want it to stop myself, but I don't know how to go about doing that," she said taking a bite of her second bowl of ramen when it was placed in front of her.

Taruo laughed. It was actually hard to believe that his hero had probably sat on the very seat he was sitting on now. He ate his bowl of ramen almost as fast as Naruto himself had.
“I think its kind of pointless. But I don’t even know why Takiagakue attacked Kusagakure in the first place or why they decided to attack our allies.”

"You make a good point. Too bad we can't surrender, think of how tha would make our countries look. It would have been better if I were here during more peaceful of times. There may not have been any recent attacks, but until a peace treaty is signed, we are at war," she said finishing her second bowl of ramen. She looked up at the ceiling of the shop, I hope this war ends soon. I would like to be able to travel without worring about being found out, she thought to herself. Ikuna turned and looked back at Taruo, "If you want a second bowl you may have a second bowl."

“Yeah, I wish we could too. In a way we only just recovered from the sand and sound’s invasion and now we have to worry about being invaded again” He ordered a second bowl of ramen and pulled out his graduation present. After a couple of minutes his second bowl of ramen. He then devoured it.
